YASSO Improves AP Efficiency and Scales for Growth with Customizations Implemented by iCloudAuthority

CASE STUDY - Since 2009, Yasso, a leading Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) brand, has disrupted the frozen dessert industry by providing a healthy, delicious alternative to ice cream. Today Yasso offers over 18 varieties of stick bars available in grocery stores across the United States. Challenge

At first, the team at Yasso used QuickBooks for their accounting needs, says Nick Swanson, controller at Yasso. But it soon became apparent that this wouldn't work for the long term. "QuickBooks is limited in terms of inventory capabilities," he says. "These system limitations hindered our closing processes."

Yasso determined they needed a solution to keep up with their company's rapid growth. Swanson explains, "As we continued to grow and become more sophisticated in our business processes, we realized the importance of closing our books faster so that we could analyze our results faster and ultimately react and adjust course faster if needed."

Solution

Both Swanson and Yasso's CFO had used NetSuite in the past and knew it could provide the functionality they needed at a reasonable cost. "From a cost standpoint, the cloud-based elements of NetSuite were huge selling factors for us," says Swanson. "NetSuite is very flexible in terms of user licenses; its accessibility is great, and it has all the features that we are looking for in an ERP."

Yasso also wanted to extend NetSuite's capabilities and seamlessly customize it for their needs as a consumer packaged goods (CPG) business. Swanson uses the example of trade promotions, which are very common in their industry and require specialized accounting work from a manufacturer. "Being able to account for that on the front end, when we invoice a customer, would save us a ton of work," he explains. "Being able to customize NetSuite to account for those things would provide a lot of benefits, such as time saved, better accuracy of accruals, and so on."

To accomplish what Yasso required, they had to find a company that could understand their business and integrate and customize NetSuite to handle their special industry needs. "We wanted to find a partner who didn't want to just install NetSuite out-of-the-box but had experience customizing it and integrating it with a lot of different applications as well," says Swanson.

Says Swanson, "For us, iCloudAuthority became a pretty easy decision: a known company that had done this before and in our CPG industry."
